Interpretive text
My work explores the complex interrelationships between plants and other living organisms including humans. 'Box woodland - habitat hollows' reflects on the creation of small hollows and passageways made through the interior of an old Eucalypt tree timber by unknown organisms. The interior protected spaces thus formed exemplify the unseen (to the human eye) ecological processes of life sustaining recycling of nutrients. They are also sites of refuge and sanctuary in which invertebrate lifecycle metamorphosis may occur.
