Interpretive text
This work explores organisational structures such as the grid, the frame, and the museum cabinet in order to consider the function of collecting, processing and interpreting the world around us. The act or 'art' of collecting and display - for science and for pleasure, or both - has a rich and interesting history and i am highly seduced by the aesthetic of historical medical imaging, cabinets of curiosity, anatomical waxes and botanical glass reproductions - to name a few - with objects repeated, ordered and categorised in painstaking and precise grids and rows.
