Explore the Collection
Artspace Mackay is a leading Queensland regional art gallery responsible for the Mackay Regional Council Art Collection. The collection includes over 1,500 works of art with one of the largest holdings of artists’ books outside of the capital cities. Highlights from the Collection include prints from the Lockhart River Art Gang of North Queensland, contemporary Indigenous artworks, ceramics, and a significant holding of Lyre Bird Press publications.
Artspace Mackay is committed to providing online widespread collection access, supporting learning and enjoyment, and increasing outreach to greater audiences through loans and travelling exhibitions. Since launching in 2021, the ongoing Collection Digitisation Project has enabled instant access to over 60% of the Mackay Regional Council Art Collection, with new artworks continually joining the ‘Explore the Collection’ database.
Over 500 works are currently available through the online collection database.
